Privacy policy
The short version: we collect as little as possible, and nothing to track you.

Who is responsible
This website is operated by The Incident Ledger, which is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, contact us at contact@theincidentledger.com.
What we collect
Server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes technical data about each request, such as your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time, to deliver the page and protect the site against abuse. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in running a secure website. Cloudflare acts as our service provider and retains this data according to its own policies.
Your theme preference
If you switch between the light and dark theme, your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key ledger-theme. It never leaves your device, is not a cookie and is not sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
What we do not do
- We do not set cookies ourselves. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies (such as
__cf_bm) to protect the site against bots; they are not used to track you. - We do not use analytics or tracking scripts.
- We do not load fonts, scripts or images from third-party services.
- We do not sell or share personal data.
- We do not collect email addresses.
Links to other websites
Articles link to vendor documentation and other external sources. Those websites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK GDPR and Brazil's LGPD give you the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we hold almost no data that identifies you, most requests can be answered quickly. To make a request, write to contact@theincidentledger.com.
Changes to this policy
If we add a feature that processes personal data, such as a newsletter, analytics or advertising, this policy will be updated before that feature goes live, and the date at the top of the page will change.
